The setting yesterday before the show featured fans whom had arrived twelve hours in advance, and were lined up around the block, from multiple states, and even as far as from the UK.
The first opening act of the show was nothing worth remembering (even his name). Greg Raposo followed, opening his set with "Looking For Love" and received a warm Chicago welcome.
Next Greg grabbed his acoustic guitar and was joined by band member Vinnie. Together they jammed to "My Life." The set continued with a nice blend of both acoustic and track music. He finished up his set with a crowd participation version of "Take Me Back Home", which you had to be there to fully appreciate how well he interacted with his audience. Once again Greg pulled out all the stops, and left everyone wanting more.
Next Lou Pearlman took the stage to introduce former New Kids On The Block member Jordan Knight.
While his music wasn’t bad, Jordan’s performance didn’t sell it. In fact when it came time to talk, often his MC spoke for him. However, pop fans were in for a treat because half way through the set Jeff Timmons joined him on stage, and sang a couple of 98 Degrees classics while the crowd sang along.
From here on out after each song ended, Aaron chants could be heard, and by the time Jordan made it to the New Kids’ hits "The Right Stuff" and "Hangin’ Tough", it was too late. He had already worn out his welcome on stage. Not to mention, his versions of the songs last night was a far cry from the act that rocked the Halftime Show of the Super Bowl fifteen years ago.
For those of you that remember tuning in to Disney Channel in February of 2001 to see Aaron Carter just has he was about to take over the pop scene, you have a good idea of what the crowd was in store for. Paying a tribute to the old school, he kicked off the show with "Bounce" and both his dancing as well as his dancers were tight, energetic, and had the crowd going crazy after only one song. He continued on with his hits "Not Too Young, Not Too Old," "How I Beat Shaq," "Leave It Up To Me," "I Want Candy," "Come Get It," "Not Another Earthquake," "America AO" and others. If at one point in your life you had an Aaron Carter poster on your wall, this is a show that you need to see.
